Hi, everyone! We receive many questions about Kimono keeping.
Let us share with you how Natsu-san is doing in her Kimono life!

vol. 7 : How should we wash HANTEN (Happi) ?-

Firstly, we would like to explain about dyeing and printing.
Our Hanten are coloured or dyed (printed) patterns in two methods.
One is HONZOME, which is traditional DYEING methods,
and the other is PIGMENT PRINTING.

The second one is the most popurlar now.
Because this is very economical way.

Also, if you have name printing on your lapes, which is
PIGMENT PRINTING in the most cases.
So, you have to follow the following clearning steps.

- You MUST NOT DRY-CLEAN the Hanten.
- Hand wash in warm or not too cold water.
- Wash softly, NOT RUB
- If you would like to use, please dissolve only a few drops.
( Vert thin neutral detergent)
- Do not leave the Hanten in the warter for a long time
dry by hand-push softly and hang in shades.

For the Hanten Obi, we do not wash usually.
If you wish to wash it, please follow same step of HAKAMA.
Spray and dry.
